Why Should You Be Proud to be a Lead Dad?

What does it take to be a Lead Dad and why should you be open and proud about this role? (After all, a third of all fathers in the U.S. are Lead Dads and of those 23 million are in the workforce.)

I get to cover all of this and more in the time I got to spend speaking with Jessi Hempel on the Hello Monday podcast.

We talk about what The Company of Dads is doing for families – both Lead Dads and Working Moms – in the community.

We talk about why companies need to think differently about how the Lead Dads and Working Moms they employ in order to maximize their productivity. Along with this comes questions about what the best companies are doing and how other companies can catch up quick.

And we talk about how challenging gender roles in the community and at work can be hard – but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. Those companies that are doing it are reaping the benefits in retention and worker engagement.

Plus, at the end Jessi gives a shout out to my favorite GuideBook, The Paper Test. (And I get to give a shout-out to two supporting companies, Bright Horizons and Seramount
