Hello Friday. We made it. Not an easy feat given how the week started with crazy, cold temperatures last weekend.
So get outside. Enjoy your family. Grill. Have a beer.
There’s no football this weekend so you don’t have that to squeeze in. But if you’re like me and are still puzzling out a Super Bowl without TB12 in it, then you might need some comfort TV.
The AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach is back with celebrities and amateurs joining the professional golfers. And that means Bill Murray will be clowning his way down the fairways, and Macklemore will be challenging him for best, loud golf attire on the course.
I’ve been fortunate to play two of the three courses in the tournament, Pebble Beach (it lives up to the hype) and Spyglass Hill (brutally difficult). The place lives up to the hype.
But Pebble was also the site of a round that I recount more than ever. It was when I met Erik Anders Lang as he strode onto the first tee dressed entirely in blue with a white bucket hat. He was there to break 90 from the tips a few weeks before the 2019 U.S. Open and film what happened. I won’t ruin the round but you can watch it here, with cameos by me.
If you’re looking for some of the coolest golf merch around, go to Erik’s Random Golf Club. I love his stuff – it’s fun and not super golfy. My personal favorite? The hat with the dog holding a club!
Tell me what your favorite bit of hobby merch is.
