Over 6 million children will lose a parent or sibling before they turn 18 years old. It’s a large number, but a lonely lot. Sara Deren, who married into a summer camp family, has been working to reduce their isolation. Her Experience Camps has now helped 1,500 kids in 7 states and keeps them connected all year.
